  • Where is NGM located?
    NGM is a virtual school, so all classes are held online. NGM is based in America but exclusively serves children throughout Myanmar.
  • What Academic Calender does NGM follow?
    NGM holds classes over a 9-month period. The start date is determined by your Batch and breaks are held intermittently throughout this 9-month period. NGM observes all Myanmar national holidays.
  • How does NGM handle cyberbullying and rude online behavior?
    NGM has a strict code of conduct inside the classroom and out. Students are expected to behave respectfully towards their teachers and classmates. We do not tolerate any form of bullying or harassment, including through social media. NGM hosts a culture of open-discussion, co-learning, and growth. We take any actions that oppose this culture seriously.
  • What languages are spoken at NGM?
    All of our classes are primarily taught in Burmese, but English is a large part of our curriculum. Each student takes English classes according to their proficiency level and they are encourage to use what they learn when doing projects for other classes.

  • What qualifications do NGM teachers have?
    First and foremost, NGM teachers are strongly committed to our students' success. This is the first thing we look for when selecting teachers. Professionally, each of them have at least a bachelor's degree in their subject area and years of teaching experience online. They are well qualified to host online classrooms and lead our students.
  • How are classes hosted at NGM?
    Classes are taught in online Zoom classrooms hosted by teachers and classroom management officers.
  • Which curriculum does NGM follow?
    NGM follows a modified version of the Myanmar curriculum. We have redesigned the curriculum to better fit our educational values. Most of our teaching is done through collaborative projects which teach our students problem-solving, critical-thinking, and teamwork.
  • Is there an orientation for new students?
    Of course, new students will go through orientation to learn about the community and how NGM classes are structured. They will also attend free a Digital Literacy Course to become familiar with the technology we use.
  • What if am not good with technology?
    Every NGM student goes through our Digital Literacy Training Course which teaches them how to use our core software and generally how to use the internet. We want our students to be comfortable while taking classes, so we show them how all the platforms we use in school work. They should also have the freedom to explore their interests online, so our course includes training on how to use the internet effectively, safely, and responsibly.
  • When can I apply to join?
    New openings will be announced 1 month before applications open. We will accept applications for 1 month before starting the semester. Please check the NGM Facebook Page for future announcements.
